Sweden has one of the highest environmental standards in the world. The country wants to become CO2 neutral by 2045. A step in this direction: electromobility and drives with liquid biogas (LBG) or biodiesel (HVO). The latter is made from 100% renewable raw materials and is therefore completely fossil-free. Meyer Logistics fleet is currently 85% fossil-free, and next year it will be 100%, which means a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90%. Meyer Logistics Sverige AB put the first low-emission trucks into operation at the end of 2019. There are currently 29 64-ton trucks powered by liquid gas in use in Sweden. In addition to the gas and biodiesel trucks, fully electric drives are also being used on a test basis, as this will be the drive type of the future, and not just in Sweden. If the general conditions are right, Meyer Logistics will certainly be one of the first companies to switch completely to “green” drives.
